A Generation of Snowflakes

Today is my birthday,

December 5th, Monday.

I wanted cake but,

mom said no. She says,

Sugar makes us melt

Sugar makes us weak.

I am not weak. Why,

would you say that.

I surprised my friend with a hug.

Get away! We will be stuck together forever!

How rude.

Today is my birthday.

Why does no one love me?

Why are they leaving me?

Wait, don’t go. Please. I’ll change.

Would you prefer a raindrop? A puddle? The ocean?

I’ll give you anything, everything. Just,

don’t leave.

My eyes hurt. My head hurts.

Can’t catch, my breath.

Today was my birth day. One of many days.
