Welcome readers! I am Virginia Biffen, the Editor-in-Chief and director of the United Magazine 2021-2022.Writing this, I am able to reflect on how privileged I have been to collaborate with such a brilliant and talented team of students. It is my honor to introduce the culmination of all their hard work: United Magazine.

First, a little more on the history of United Magazine. It was established in 2013, and is Sha Tin College’s annual bilingual magazine. The publication itself is built upon a foundation of advocacy and passion, intricately molded into the rich body of student work that stands today. Central to the driving ethos of the magazine is the celebration of bilingualism, creative liberty & the showcase of students’ literary and artistic gifts.

Beyond that, the magazine has served as a nexus for the exploration of both local and global issues. As a team, we selected the theme of ‘Time’ - a topic that is familiar to us all, yet can still surprise with wisdom. We are hoping this edition will open a window of insight, a window into your future. 

This edition, available in  both online and physical formats, features an array of bespoke content carefully designed and curated by Sha Tin College students. From a biography of the late great Princess of Wales Diana to an article about the changes in Chinese society, I assure you, the pieces will not disappoint. Incorporating the talents of our students, we offer an extensive range of works that we hope will inspire you, the reader, to pick up a pen and start writing.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all those who have contributed to the creation of the 9th edition - from editing and writing articles to designing and promoting the magazine. Each member, through their incredible efforts, has collaboratively continued the legacy of this magazine, thereby preserving individual thought & different forms of creativity. I would also like to extend my many thanks to Ms.Yang, who has guided students and liaised with the school. Being the Editor-in-Chief has truly been a rewarding experience, and I am forever grateful to the whole team.

各位读者好！我是去年迄今聯合雜誌的社長兼总编毕宝琦。我非常荣幸能和诸位才华洋溢的同学合作并向大家介绍这本刊物。

首先，我想阐述杂志的厉史。它成立於2013年，是沙田學院的雙語年刊。本刊能夠發行至今都是

奠基在學生的熱情，支持與豐富的作品之上。我們出刊的動力來源於學生在雙語及文學創作的天份。

其次，這一本雜誌提供了一個探索本地與國際議題的機會。雖然我們團隊選擇了時間這個眾所周知的主題，卻仍舊可能讓讀者發現平凡中的不平凡，帶來新的視野。

聯合雜誌可於缐上閱覧也有發行紙本刊物。刊物內容由沙田學院學生精心設計與編排，從戴安娜王妃的傳記到中國社會的更迭，絕不令讀者失望。匯集著學生的才華，我們提供了多樣化的內容，為的就是激勵讀者提筆寫作。

在此我想對第九期刊物貢獻心力的所有人表達誠摯的謝意。從雜誌的編採、設計，和宣傳，透過每位成員的付出，將這本雜誌的傳統延續下去。我也要特別向楊老師致上敬意和感謝，在指導學生的寫作及聯繫學校方面做出了許多貢獻，促使雜誌順利出刊。這次的經歷令我獲益良多，也成為我中學生涯非常難忘的回憶。
